Meeting Frank Kearvell’s elder sisters at Hamilton

Back L to r, Mike, Dina

Front L to r, Anne, Mary Voyle, nee Kearvell, Olwyn McDonagh, nee Kearvell

This was a great treat for me to finally meet Mary and Olwyn. Mary had been one of the earliest family members to trace our ancestry whilst Olwyn had been one of the earliest responders to my original query letters sent out in 2000 about our Family History.

Frank Kearvell’s youngest brother.

Diane Kearvell, nee Gaskell and Ross Kearvell from Koromatua

Again another cousin to kindly allow us to park-up on their land for an overnight stay. Ross and Diane are keen Equestrians and Ross has designed showjumping fences and the like.

Twins strolling in Hagley Park, Christchurch

Anne Millard, nee Kearvell and Jonathan (John) Kearvell.  Annes husband, Mick, is behind.

Inset: Mabel Kearvell, nee Swadling (John’s wife) under attack from a Kea Parrot

Orange-fronted Parakeets Display at Willowbank Wildlife Reserve near Christchurch.

Brother, John Kearvell, showing us the display about Parakeets. He was one of the Conservationists who determined that the orange-fronted was a separate species and not a mix of the red and yellow crested species. He presently works in the Hawdon Valley of the Southern Alps identifying and securing the habitat of this endangered species.
