It is with great sadness that I have learned of the death of Jean Mary Mackenzie Kearvell in Kent, England on 1 October 2011, aged 84 years. Her death occurred as a result of a domestic fall. Jean was the daughter of Edward Alfred George Kearvell 1895-1970 and Sophie Elsie Mackenzie 1889-1951. Interestingly her parents both served in the Royal Navy. Our belated sympathies are sent to Jean’s near family. Jean was a keen family historian and I have been offered her records to peruse.

Congratulations to Julie Kearvell, daughter of Keith and Elizabeth Kearvell, on her marriage today in Adelaide, South Australia to Stuart Jeffery from England. Julie has spent the last 6 years living and working in Nottingham, England but returned to Australia with her husband-to-be at the end of March.

Sadly I have received notice that my Aunt, Florence Kearvell passed away today at the age of 95 years. In Oxford, England.  “Florrie’s” maiden name was Giles and she came from Oxford. She was married to Ernest Leslie Kearvell 1914-1976.

A little belated but I am pleased to acknowledge the birth of Freya Holly, third child of Steven and Sharon Kearvell, at Preston Lancashire on the 23 December 2011

Belated congratulations to Eliza Kearvell-Lawton and her partner, Leighton Davies, on the birth of their first child, Mea Lani, on 1 August 2012 in Raglan, New Zealand. Mea arrived 11 weeks early and weighed only 2½ pounds. Mother and Daughter are now well.
